Individual Training Interventions (ITI)
OBJECTIVES |
- To purchase appropriate training, either short or long-term, from various Training Institutions and organizations for individuals and groups. Such programs must be directly linked to enhancing the client's employment marketability.
- To enable clients to pursue career and employment options by meeting entry-level qualifications for job placements or maintenance, further training and education, or trades and apprenticeships.

ELIGIBLE CLIENTS |
- Métis clients, whether EI eligible or not, including income assistance recipients, who may be unemployed, under-employed, or employed, particularly those requiring pre-qualification for chosen career path or for self-employment. (Employed clients will be encouraged to make a contribution.)
- Métis clients whose employment is at risk due to deficiency in employment skills or certification.

ELIGIBLE DELIVERY AGENTS |
| Recognized public post-secondary Training Institutions, private Training Institutions registered with the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of B.C. (PPSEC), and/or delivery agents recognized by industry. |
CRITERIA |
- Training must relate directly to employment goals and must meet the needs of both the client and the industry or labour market.
- Clients must access training through the application process.
- Training costs will correspond to funding availability and must demonstrate cost effectiveness. This may include tuition, textbooks and related supplies, special equipment where necessary, lab/exam and certification fees, incremental transportation and childcare expenses, and living expenses according to the negotiated financial assistance policies.
- Capital assets are not eligible expenses.

DURATION |
| The maximum amount of funding available per client is twenty-four (24) months. In the case of long-term programs, priority will be given to applicants entering the last twenty-four (24) months of training. A funding commitment will only be made for a maximum of one (1) year at a time and the applicant must reapply by submitting an application in each subsequent year. |
